Do you want to Tank raids with your level 60 Cleric? Then you must Rune your items! Runes are consumable items that get attached to your items. Runing your items can be a bigger upgrade than getting a tier 2 raid item.

For example runing your Chest, Feet and Gloves with Lustrous Resolute Rune will provide you with 165 extra endurance. Applying two additional Lustrous Adamant Rune to your weapon and shield increase this number to 275 endurance. This results in about 6700 additional health*

Some item slots do not have cleric specific Tank runes. In this case we fall back to Cleric DPS/Heal runes, for example Spellpower on Ranged slot.

These lustrous runes are expensive but remember that you can transfer them to new gear with a Rune Unsocketing Apparatus….

*At 66K hp the gain for 1 rune was 1340. Exact hp depends on your endurance. It is boosted by bonus from talents, + 35% from Mien of Leadership, +3% from Armor of Treachery, 5% courage of the bear, etc.

Tips

• Lustrous Runes are worth +- 330 platinum
• Sometimes Runes can be found cheaper on Auction (due to loot chests)
• Almost all of these runes have cheap Auroral versions costing you only 10-20 platinum!
• Rune Unsocketing Apparatus can retrieve your rune from items
• Rune Unsocketing Apparatus can be bought in the Rift store>Services for credits
• Players sell Rune Unsocketing Apparatus for platinum
• Crafting dailies are a great way to gain reputation with the factions (600-1600 per quest)

If you want the cleric tank best in slot runes, then get these items:

Some of them can be crafted, others require reputation. Since not everyone had the required reputation I have provided a list of craftable, honored and glorified runes for your convenience!

Crafted Runes

Crafted runes can be bought on the auction house or crafted by players with the Runecrafting Profession. All Lustrous crafting runes require the following:

• 3 dreaming stars (240p)
• 3 empyreal planar dust (6p)
• 2 branching star (2p)
• 1 ethereal shard (1500 slayer marks or 80p)

Total cost therefore are about 330 platinum. For some slots is better to use the Reputation runes, these are marked with a *.

Reputation Runes: Honored

These runes require honored reputation with Qaijiri, Caretekers, Achyati, Eternal Cit Survivors, or the Empyreal Alliance factions. Buy them from the Rift store>Equipment>Runes.

Reputation Runes: Glorified

These runes require glorified reputation with Qaijiri, Caretekers, Achyati, Eternal Cit Survivors, or the Empyreal Alliance. Buy them from the Rift store>Equipment>Runes.
